How we work. Sustainable development concerns everything and everyone. Sustainable Robertsfors will not exist forever: it is the people of Robertsfors who will complete the work. Work on sustainable development can sometimes seem overwhelming and an almost hopeless task, but we must never forget that we are many and that if we each take small steps, we can advance in gigantic strides. Changes need not take place immediately, since the process leading to Sustainable Robertsfors is a long-term one.   The Compass In our work we use a model that we call the Compass. The word compass refers to the progres of an orienteer through the forest. It is not always possible to take the shortest route: there can be obstacles in the way. One then goes round the obstacle, while keeping in mind the true compass direction. The road towards Sustainable Robertsfors is not dead straight, and can sometimes be crooked. The compass helps us keep our bearings. A. Learn to read the map First we must understand what limitations there are to be able to meet our needs. Regardless of where we are, the question concerns the Earth´s game rules. B. See where you are Look around your region, and based on the Earth´s game rules you will see the situation from a new perspective. How does Robertsfors (or my home area) look today? C. Take a bearing We envisage a future where we enjoy well being without contributing to injustice or environmental problems. What kind of future do we want in Robertsfors Municipality? Find a smart route We make plans for Robertsfors Municipality in the future, and take well-measured strides on he right road, witch may be crooked, but leads to the right goal. How do we get there?
